2019 – An Exciting Year For Hats

On this the first day of a new year when the partying season comes to an end, and all of the presents have been unwrapped  I start to think I am one very lucky lady. Because in a few weeks time my new hat collection will arrive at On Your Head Be It, and it will be like Christmas all over again !    The studio floor is cascaded in tissue paper that has been carefully protecting the hats on route to the studio, and each box is full of such beautiful creativity in the form of a beautiful hat or headpiece. After choosing the collection back in the autumn  its wonderful when the hats arrive, and to see how they sit together on the shelves, and how they will create a visual impact when my clients first walk through the door. So now all thoughts turn to Spring Weddings, the start of the racing season, and the constant merry go round of social events that my clients get invited to – the new diary has been opened with new appointments and hats booked for 2019 and so it begins …

Royal Weddings 2018

What a fantastic year 2018 has been for British Millinery, with two Royal Weddings showcasing fabulous hat creations, and showing the world, the very best in style and elegance.

Both weddings were very different, and it was lovely to see how guests chose their outfits according to the season, with Paler colours abounding for Prince Harry and Megans wedding in May, and jewel rich colours for Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank wedding in October.

On Your Head Be It has seen its hats at both of these events and I was very proud to see my hats opposite The Royal Family in St Georges Chapel Windsor..

I am currently in the middle of my buying season and have spent the past few weeks looking at colour charts and trends for Spring/Summer 2019 – so far I have seen lots of pastel shades but also lots of bright zingy colours, so as normal I have ordered across the spectrum to cover as many colour ways as possible for my clients.

Its always good if you have a wedding or special event to start looking for your outfit as soon as that seasons clothes hits the shops, as you get a good feel for colour trends – but more importantly they have your size in stock !

Its always a very exciting time choosing hats,  and the one thing I can promise On Your Head Be It’s clients is that 2019’s collection will not disappoint !
